Topping the list is Teresita Sen "Winwyn" Marquez who was crowned Miss Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 in Sta. Cruz, Bolivia last Nov.5. A native of Paranaque City, Winwyn is the first and only Asian representative to win the title dominated by Latinas in the previous years. Daughter of estranged celebrity couple Alma Moreno and Joey Marquez, she is also into showbiz business being a contract star of GMA-7. She was crowned Miss World Philippines Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 last September. Miss Philippines-Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco became the 4th Miss Earth titleholder of the country last November 4 at the MOA Arena in Pasay City. Karen bested more than 80 delegates from around the world to have clinched the most coveted pageant title that deals with the protection of our mother nature. Meanwhile, Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2017 Nelda Ibe almost clinched the country's 2nd Miss Globe crown when she was proclaimed first runner-up out of more than 50 candidates in Tirana, Albania. Filipina Ann Lorraine Colis won the crown last 2015 in Canada. Bb. Pilipinas Grand International Elizabeth Clenci emerged 2nd runner-up in the 2017 edition of Miss Grand International pageant held in Vinpearl Resort in Vietnam out of more than 70 entries. The pageant was hosted by Pinoy celebrity Xian Lim and beauty queen Nicole Cordoves. Dr. Riza Caldoza representing the Philippines was crowned Mrs. Tourism International 2017 in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. The inaugural pageant for married women aims to promote its advocacy, "A Mother Who Cares for the World." Sammie Ann Legaspi, a Bb. Pilipinas semi-finalist this year and Miss Globe 2016 runner-up placed second over-all at the Miss Lumiere International pageant held over the weekend in the exciting city of Singapore. In other news, a triple send-off press conference was held last Nov. 6 at the Monet ballroom of Novotel Hotel for the 3 remaining Bb. Pilipinas titleholders. Miss Universe Philippines 2017 Rachel Louise Peters is set to compete in Las Vegas, Nevada for the annual Miss Universe beauty pageant on November 26 (Nov. 27, Manila time). Bb. Pilipinas Supranational will try to win another crown for the country in Poland on December 1 at the Miss Supranational pageant and Katarina Rodriguez is representing the country in the Miss Intercontinental 2017 pageant on December 21 in Sri Lanka. On male pageantry news, Thailand's Ricardo Richard Carter emerged victorious at the inaugural edition of Mr. Universe Tourism 2017 held in Palacio De Manila. Half-Pinoy Kris Martin from Canada was declared first runner-up and Korean Jinseon Kwon Stewart placed third over-all. The international male pageant was duly supported by Dept. of Tourism and former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson. |
