In celebration of the true spirit of Christmas, several beauty queens spread good tidings and joy to unfortunate children of Boys Town and patients of the National Children’s Hospital through gift-giving and fun-filled activities. Reigning Miss Republic of the Philippines (Miss RP) 2015-16 Fermira Dianne Ramos visited The Manila Boys Town Complex in Parang, Marikina, one of the oldest orphanages for the homeless, abandoned, forgotten, and voluntarily surrendered children in the country and distributed Christmas gift packages as part of the yearly outreach program of Miss RP. The said event was in partnership with Mr. Raffy Gamat. Dianne likewise visited President Corazon C. Aquino Elementary School in Bgy. Batasan in Quezon City and also distributed school supplies and Christmas gifts to the students. The search for the next Miss RP is currently on-going and the first batch of screening is scheduled on February 2017.
Meanwhile, Dairy Queen (DQ) partnered with Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. in throwing a surprise Christmas Party to ailing kids of Nephro-Cardio & Hema Ward of the National Children’s Hospital last December 21. Joining the celebration were DQ’s brand ambassadors Miss Universe Philippines 2016 Maxine Medina, Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa, Miss Globe 2016 3rd Runner-up Nichole Manalo, and Bb. Pilipinas 2016 Runners-up Angelica Alita and Jehza Mae Huelar. The Binibinis cheerfully helped out in the distribution of toys and other exciting treats to over fifty kids in attendance. The kids, most of them battling cancer, cardiac and renal conditions, were all smiles as they participated in a magic show and trick and enjoyed the delicious treats that were generously provided by Dairy Queen together with Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
At the conclusion of the fun-filled afternoon, the kids joyfully took pictures with the lovely Binibinis and wished our very own Miss Universe Philippines Maxine Medina the best of luck on her forthcoming Miss Universe competition which will be held here in Manila in January 2017.
