Report by: Francis Calubaquib Photos from Noli Berioso & Lito Caleon Twenty-four Beauty Delegates of the on-going 65th Miss Universe Pageant visited the summer capital of the country, Baguio City last January 18 and was treated with royal welcome and world-class Filipino hospitality fit for a queen. The beauties who visited Baguio City are from Australia, Colombia, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain, Albania, Aruba, Barbados, France, Guam, Haiti, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Korea, Kosovo, Malta, Mauritius, New Zealand, Norway, Slovenia, South Africa, Sweden, US Virgin Island, Denmark, Finland, Canada and Japan. The delegates together with reigning Miss Universe, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach are warmly welcomed at the Loakan Airport by top City Officials, Event Sponsors and the cadets of The Philippine Military Academy (PMA). They immediately participated at the colorful Panagbenga Parade aboard a flower-deck floats that started at the Upper Session road leading to the historic Baguio Country Club amidst cheer from a mammoth crowd that lined-up the parade route. Many pageant observers and Media covering the pageant consider the parade event as one of the most organized, orderly and festive activity of the 65th Miss Universe pre-event so far.
The Baguio Country Club (BCC) treated the delegates with a sumptuous lunch followed by a Miss Universe Crown Golf Tea-Off Ceremony and a Tree Planting and Strawberry Picking activity in the afternoon. An Elegant Gala Dinner with exciting performances from Baguio City artists at the Cordillera Hall of BCC capped the memorable visit of the 65th Miss Universe delegates to the City of Pines. |
